Injured Trummer to miss Hungary

Injured Trummer to miss Hungary

28 July 2010

It has been confirmed that the injured Simon Trummer will be forced to miss this weekend’s eleventh and twelfth rounds of the season at the Hungaroring due to being injured in Hockenheim’s second race on Sunday.

With his car having been forced into the air before taking a heavy landing, it was initially thought that the Jenzer Motorsport driver would be able to compete this weekend although it has now been confirmed that the Swiss, who has been examined in a Bern hospital, has sustained one broken and three fractured vertebrae.

The only upside for Trummer is that a longer than usual three-week break separates Budapest from the following race weekend at Spa.

Manor Racing’s James Jakes has undergone surgery to his right arm following his accident although it is at present unsure as to whether he will drive in Hungary or not.
