Series leader Esteban Gutiérrez, MW Arden’s Leonardo Cordiero, Jenzer Motorsport’s Pal Varhaug and Atech CRS GP’s Oliver Oakes have all been given a 30 seconds penalty for overtaking under the safety car at the end of Race 1 yesterday. The time has been added to their Race 1 results.
Addax Team’s Felipe Guimaraes has also been penalised for overtaking under the safety car. The Brazilian failed to finish Race 1 and has therefore received a 10 spot penalty.
Gutiérrez will start Race 2 from 16th on the grid, Cordiero will start from 14th, Varhaug 15th, Oakes 17th and Guimaraes 30th.
Wickens has closed the championship gap on Gutiérrez and is now 18 points behind the Mexican with 27 points still up for grabs.
