I’ve had it with this season, says van der Zande

30 August 2010

Mücke Motorsport man Renger van der Zande may skip the final round of the GP3 Series at Monza in two weeks time after a tough weekend in Belgium in which he failed to finish in either race. Indeed he has conceded that 2010 just hasn’t been his year.

“I've had it with this season,” said the Dutch driver, who finished third in the British F3 championship last year, but who is only 20th in the GP3 Series drivers’ championship standings with six points on the board.

“I started with the idea I could fight for the championship here with our team and Ralf Schumacher as one of the owners of the team. But it didn't go as plan at all. We had lots of silly bad luck, competitors pushing me off track, there's always something going wrong.

“With my experience and reputations I have nothing to win here in GP3. I will sit down with my management this week to think about my plans for the future.

“If it’s up to me I will skip the final race weekend at Monza and focus on 2011,” he summed-up.
