The MW Arden team has announced that Mitch Evans and Lewis Williamson will be its drivers for the 2011 GP3 season, with the duo being confirmed on Tuesday afternoon. Evans joins the squad after winning the Toyota Racing Series last year, as well as finishing runner-up in the Australian Formula 3 Championsip.
"I'm really excited to be racing with MW Arden in the 2011 GP3 Series," he commented. "The test in Estoril went well and we are really happy joining the team as they are very professional I'm looking forward to working with them in my first year of racing in Europe.
"It's certainly going to be a very tough series and a steep learning curve as I've not raced at any of these circuits before but I'm looking forward to the challenge and the whole experience of living in Europe."
Williamson finished second in the race for the Formula Renault UK title in 2010, as well as receiving the McLaren Autosport BRDC award, earning himself a future test in the Woking-based outfit's F1 machinery.
"It is with great pleasure that we would like to announce that Lewis has secured a drive with top GP3 team MW Arden," a statement on the British driver’s website said. "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Highland Arena for making it all possible. Here's to a successful 2011."
