Our season starts at Donington, says Jordan
8 April 2011 – Andrew Jordan has revealed that he will be turning his attentions to consistency after enduring a difficult opening race weekend at Brands Hatch. The Lichfield-born man scored points in just one of the three races, leaving him determined to turn his Eurotech Racing squad’s form around during the next event at Donington Park.
"Obviously we have to get our consistency right first, but finishes won’t be an issue," Jordan began. "We’re 100 percent sure the two punctures at Brands Hatch weren’t caused by the car’s set-up because we stripped the tyre after race one and found debris lodged in the middle of the tyre. In race three I just hit a kerb too hard, so hopefully we’ve got all of our bad luck for this year out of the way."
Jordan went on to talk about his misfortune at Brands Hatch last weekend, with punctured tyres severely hindering two of his races.
"It was very disappointing to score only one points finish at Brands because we’d quietly got on with our work during testing and our pace in the second race at was good, as we went from 17th to sixth place," he added.
"It wasn’t our aim to score just one points finish because I set out to come away from Brands in the top three of the drivers’ championship. It won’t be easy to catch Plato from where we are, but everyone is going to have bad races and we need to capitalise on that. In a way we need to right off Brands - our season starts at Donington."
