GP3: Spain 2011: Friday practice 2 results

Switzerland’s Nico Müller has gone quickest in Spain’s second GP3 practice session of Friday. Heading towards tomorrow morning’s qualifying session, the Jenzer Motorsport driver leads the way from Marussia Manor’s Rio Haryanto and the Tech 1 Racing car of Andrea Caldarelli.

Qualifying promises to be a close encounter, with just 82 thousandths of a second separating the first two runners, although Müller’s best effort came relatively early into the session. There was little in terms of incident, although Adrian Quaife-Hobbs did cause yellow flags when going off-circuit, ending his session in the process.

Leading Briton James Calado was fourth, with Lotus ART team-mates Pedro Nunes of Brazil and Valtteri Bottas of Finland – fastest in the first session – completing the top six.

GP3 Qualifying begins at 8:45am local time (BST +1) on Saturday
