Bottas moves ahead in second practice
29 July 2011 – Finn Valtteri Bottas topped the timesheets in GP3’s second Friday practice session at the Hungaroring. After setting the best time from Lotus ART team-mate James Calado, the top three was completed by Tom Dillmann for Addax.
Rain has been forecast to strike the Budapest venue for most of the afternoon, although all series’ sessions eventually remained dry. Turning in a best effort of 1:37.947, Bottas held an advantage of just 64 thousandths of a second.
With the P1 time being registered barely halfway through the session, there were a number of changes for the third in the final minutes, with Dillmann eventually taking the place from Mitch Evans and António Félix da Costa.
Rio Haryanto, Nico Müller, Michael Christensen, Simon Trummer and Vittorio Ghirelli round out the top ten.
