Plato moves ahead in second practice
1 October 2011 – Jason Plato moved atop the timesheets during this afternoon’s second practice session at Brands Hatch, overhauling Honda Racing’s Gordon Shedden in the final few minutes. Paul O’Neill was next up, making it two Chevrolet's inside the top three.
Another warm session allowed for over one second to be shaved off the fastest morning time, with Plato making his intentions fully clear ahead of qualifying later this afternoon. Alex MacDowall was next up behind the fastest three drivers, finishing the session just ahead of James Nash, while Matt Neal could only manage sixth place.
Tom Onslow-Cole was the highest placed Team Aon runner in seventh, with Rob Collard and team-mate Tom Chilton right behind. Series newcomer Ollie Jackson completed the top ten, while fellow rookie Chris Swanwick wound up in 27th.
Qualifying begins at 3.40pm local time (BST)
