Eurotech Racing, the outfit which currently runs the Pirtek Vauxhall Vectras of Andrew Jordan and Jeff Smith in the British Touring Car Championship, has announced that it will be entering fully NGTC-prepared Honda Civics for 2012.
With Jordan and Smith remaining as the team’s drivers, it has been confirmed that the pair of Hondas are to be built by 2010 and 2011 Manufacturer and Teams’ Champions Team Dynamics, who have been running the Civic model since the start of 2007. A fresh two-year deal with title sponsor Pirtek has also been verified.
"This is the start of a new two-year partnership with Pirtek and that has given us the confidence and stability to make a major investment," Team Principal Mike Jordan explains. "We will have exactly the same car as Matt Neal (championship leader). We looked seriously at several options for building our own car, but we wanted the best package for the start of the new season - that’s as good as it gets."
After team owner Mike stunningly won at Mondello Park in a Honda Integra five years ago, the Eurotech-run Vectra has since won three races with son Andrew at the wheel – the 15th and 30th rounds of 2010 plus Round 5 of 2011 at Donington Park.
