David Leslie Senior dies
19 December 2011 – David Leslie Sr, father of late racing driver David Leslie, passed away on Sunday after suffering a long illness. Funeral details will soon be released by the BRDC.
Leslie Sr. was an important figure in Scottish motorsport, having been a supporting role to the careers of several drivers including David Coulthard, Dario Franchitti and Allan McNish as well as his own son.
His son, David Leslie, was killed in March 2008 when the light aircraft carrying himself, FIA GT3 team owner Richard Lloyd and data engineer Chris Allarton suffered a failure before crashing into a housing estate in Farnborough, Kent.
