Fong completes Status GP line-up for 2013
30 March 2013 – Adderly Fong will contest the upcoming GP3 Series campaign for Status Grand Prix, the team confirmed on Saturday. The Canadian-born Chinese driver, who last year contested the Asia-based Audi R8 LMS Cup and a part-season in the British Formula 3 National Class, joins Jimmy Eriksson and Josh Webster at the outfit.
"I’m looking forward to the season and it will be interesting," 23-year-old Fong explained. "The new 400bhp car is very tough, there is very strong competition, but we have good people at the team.
"The straight-line speed of the new GP3 car is just amazing. It handles more like a big F3 car, which is what I’m used to, but with everything more intense - bigger g-forces, heavier steering and more stopping power."
Fong tested for Status Grand Prix at Estoril and the Circuit de Catalunya earlier this year, with the final pre-season gathering taking place at Silverstone from 3-4 April.
