Sims to make GP3 return at Nürburgring
2 July 2013 – Alexander Sims will make a return to the GP3 Series at the Nürburgring this weekend.
The Briton, 25, has been called up by Status Grand Prix to replace Adderly Fong, who is committed to racing in the Audi R8 LMS Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup at Ordos.
"It’s always tough going into a weekend having not driven the car," said Sims, "but I would hope with my experience that within the first five or 10 laps of free practice I should get an indication of the level of performance and then push very hard."
Sims is a former race winner in GP3, having contested the 2011 campaign for Status. He now competes in the Blancpain Endurance Series as a factory McLaren driver.
