Sims retains GP3 drive with Carlin
5 September 2013 – Alexander Sims will remain with Carlin for the upcoming GP3 round in Italy, the team has confirmed. The Briton won on his return to the series at Spa-Francorchamps last time out, having been called up to race alongside Nick Yelloly and Luís Sá Silva.
With Eric Lichtenstein's contract being terminated due his management failing to pay the required fees, Sims has been given the opportunity to prolong his stay at the outfit, a move team boss Trevor Carlin has welcomed after his Belgian performances.
"Alexander did a fantastic job for us in Spa and is the epitome of a professional racing driver in his ability, feedback and attitude," said Carlin. "To see him and Nick pushing each other on was a great help and we have an even better handle on the car now.
"We head to Monza chasing similar if not better results for them both and Luis."
After Monza, GP3 will pause for almost two months until the finale in Abu Dhabi.
