Russian Time joins GP3 Series
27 September 2013 – GP2 outfit Russian Time has announced the expansion of its junior level operations for 2014, with the team joining the GP3 Series field at the expense of Bamboo Engineering.
Despite this being the squad’s inaugural campaign, they currently sit at the top of the Team Standings in GP2, with driver Sam Bird also challenging points leader Fabio Leimer for the drivers’ title.
Famed for their innovative livery designs throughout the year, the team will make their first appearance in GP3 during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi.
"We’re very happy to be joining the GP3 Series next season and I would like to thank the organisers for this great opportunity,” said Team Principal Igor Mazepa. "We’ve had a very successful first season in GP2 Series in 2013 in our first year. Our objective was to be fighting for the Teams’ title and that’s what we will be doing in Abu Dhabi next month.
"We’re looking forward to that same kind of success in GP3 in 2014 and 2015," he added. "We will be working hard towards that starting with the post-season tests at Yas Marina Circuit."
