Sainz Jr. excluded from race results
2 November 2013 – Red Bull junior driver Carlos Sainz Jr. has been excluded from the opening GP3 race in Abu Dhabi for his involvement in a dramatic collision with Patric Niederhauser.
MW Arden's Sainz Jr. clashed with Jenzer rival Niederhauser on the run down to Turn 11 on the fifth lap of the race. While the Spaniard was able to continue and collect two points in ninth position, the latter was forced into retirement with suspension damage.
Having assessed the relevant TV footage, the stewards opted to exclude Sainz Jr. on the grounds of "causing a dangerous collision and forcing another driver off track".
Dino Zamparelli is promoted to ninth, with Robert Vișoiu now claiming the final point.
