Formula E building Donington headquarters
23 January 2014 – Formula E, the FIA's upcoming electric racing series, has announced that it is in the process of building new headquarters and team buildings within the grounds of the historic Donington Park Circuit.
Construction at the 44,000 ft² site got underway on January 2 and, when complete, will provide all 10 teams with state-of-the-art operating facilities, including offices, stores and workshops for Formula E's staff.
"We looked at a number of locations around Europe but the British motorsport industry is regarded as the best in the world so it was an easy decision for us to be based in the UK and our new facilities at Donington Park provide the perfect central location for operating the FIA Formula E Championship," said series CEO Alejandro Agag.
All construction work will be completed by the end of April, with the first teams moving in on May 1.
