Senna set for second Stock Car outing
14 March 2014 – Bruno Senna will contest the opening round of the 2014 Brazilian Stock Car Championship at Interlagos next weekend, pairing up with compatriot Antônio Pizzonia in a Prati-Donaduzzi sponsored Peugeot 408.
The first race features a unique format, with the 32 regular drivers – including Pizzonia – inviting a special guest. For the remainder of the season, former Jaguar and Williams driver Pizzonia will partner Júlio Campos.
Ex-HRT, Lotus and Williams pilot Senna made his first appearance in the category at the São Paulo venue in the closing stages of the 2013 season, when he guided a GT Team Raízen-sponsored Chevrolet to 15th place.
"I always said that I could make another outing in Stock Car, depending on the proposal," explained Senna. "The team made a very good offer and I'm quite pleased to be back after my maiden experience in December."
Senna is yet to confirm his full racing programme for 2014, with Aston Martin Racing revealing at the end of last month that the 30-year-old will be making just a one-off appearance for the team in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
