Franchitti joins Formula E commentary team
25 April 2014 – IndyCar legend Dario Franchitti will join the host television commentary team for the inaugural Formula E championship later this year.
Franchitti claimed four IndyCar titles and three Indianapolis 500 wins across an illustrious career before he was forced to retire at the end of 2013 following an enormous accident in Houston.
Franchitti has remained on the IndyCar scene as an advisor to Chip Ganassi Racing but will now also act as a co-commentator and pundit when Formula E begins in September.
"It is no secret that I have a passion for the history and evolution of motorsports," said Franchitti. "To be on the team that will now cover an exciting new racing category is a great honour and I can't wait to see how the Formula E cars perform when the lights go out in Beijing."
