Buemi, Prost confirmed as e.dams drivers
30 June 2014 – Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost will contest the inaugural Formula E campaign with e.dams.
The team, co-owned by four-time F1 World Champion Alain Prost and Jean-Paul Driot, founder of feeder outfit DAMS, revealed its drivers alongside the news that series engine supplier Renault will be its title sponsor.
Ex-F1 driver Buemi, who remains involved through his Red Bull reserve duties, now races full-time in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) for Toyota, and claimed a podium finish at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Nicolas Prost, reserve driver for the Lotus F1 team, is also active in the WEC with Rebellion Racing.
"We have recruited two very talented drivers for this exciting new challenge," Driot commented.
"In addition to his driving skills, Nicolas Prost will bring his ability to think outside of the box to the table, as well as his technical background and his ability to analyse the technical aspects of this all-electric formula.
"Sébastien Buemi will bring his reputation and speed, along with the fact that he is extremely popular with the public and motor racing fans."
