Eriksson loses Hockenheim podium finish
20 July 2014 – Jimmy Eriksson's GP3 title bid has taken a hit after losing his podium in Sunday's race at Hockenheim.
The Koiranen GP driver fended off championship leader Alex Lynn to finish third in the final encounter of the weekend, but the stewards handed him a post-race time penalty for failing to adhere to yellow flags.
The 20-second penalty drops Eriksson to 15th, while Lynn moves up extends his advantage to 30 points.
Five-place grid penalties for the next round in Hungary were also handed out to Marvin Kirchhöfer, for his Turn 6 clash with Emil Bernstorff, and Pal Varhaug, for his collision with Sebastian Balthasar at the same corner.
