Glock completes BMW's 2013 DTM line-up
25 January 2013 – Timo Glock has been confirmed as the final member of BMW's DTM line-up for the 2013 season, with the manufacturer deciding to acquire the services the ex-Formula 1 driver after his test performance at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Thursday.
Glock was confirmed at the test following his mutual split from the Marussia F1 Team earlier in the week, impressing with his raw pace in the M3 DTM. The 30-year-old, who was a test driver for the BMW Sauber F1 Team back in 2007, says he is looking forward to 'battling for victories again' in Germany's premier touring car category.
Meanwhile, BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt says he is 'delighted' to have secured Glock for the 2013 season and is sure he can adapt quickly to the series.
Glock leaves F1 after starting 91 races for Jordan, Toyota and Marussia combined. His highlights were podiums in Hungary (2008), Malaysia and Singapore (2009).
