Ferrari was Bridgestone's only top team in 2005. Now the Japanese tyre manufacturer will be providing more strong competitors, like Toyota and Williams. Ferrari test driver Marc Gené thinks it will help his outfit.
"Its more that it's not a big disadvantage as it was last year," he told F1Racing.net in Jerez. "If we don't run a day of testing Bridgestone still has data."
The regulations for next season will be like in 2004, when Ferrari was the fastest team. "But it doesn't change much," Gené explained. "It was a disadvantage last year, because it was difficult to adapt to it. Now it's the same for everybody."
"I have no doubt we will be back at the top again," he continued. "Of course, you never know, but I'm sure we will be back in the first race. I'm very optimistic. I want to win with Ferrari. I'm one of the many people working here and enjoying the team and the atmosphere. Lets hope we will get some good results again."
