Monteiro rages at Sato
3 July 2006 – Tiago Monteiro slammed Takuma Sato after the Japanese driver drove into the side of the Midland F1 car in an ambitious move down the inside of turn one. Until that point Monteiro was running a strong ninth and the collision put both drivers out of the race.
"I was really happy and relieved to get through the first corner mess - I saw a gap and I was P9 minding my own business and then sadly once again Sato tried to win the race again in the first lap and hit me," Monteiro fumed.
"There were like 70 laps to go and you have to think about the whole race," he added. "It's not the first time Aguri have done that which is what makes it so annoying. We could have scored some points here this weekend so it's a real shame."
