Tiago Monteiro showed a strong performance in his first two Formula 1 seasons. He joined the Jordan team back in 2005, and continued with the team under the name of Midland F1. The Portuguese hopes to sign a renewed contract soon as the team's name changed to Spyker.
"We are currently negotiating with Spyker about a new contract," Monteiro admitted to F1Racing.net. "But there are always many things to talk about before you can actually sign anything. We've also been contacted by some other teams but Spyker is for sure my priority at the moment."
At the moment Monteiro busies himself keeping fit and doing a number of PR commitments. In two weeks time he will participate in his first rally race. "In two weeks time I will participate in my first rally race. Peugeot invited me to be their '0' car during the last Rally in the Portuguese championship. I think this should be a great experience!"
