Stewart impressed by Hamilton's pole
10 June 2007 – Triple F1 world champions Sir Jackie Stewart is impressed after seeing Lewis Hamilton taking pole in Montreal on Saturday. The Scotsman, who quit Formula 1 in 1973, said the young Briton is working very mature and sees a bright future for McLaren's rookie.
"I think it's a great achievement for a young man to be in pole position in his sixth grand prix on a racetrack he's never been to before," Stewart told GPUpdate.net. "But I think, considering his five podiums in five races it's not a big surpris. It was just a matter of time, in the same way a win is jus a matter of time.
"I think he did it very well, because he actually made a mistake, but picked himself up and placed himself on pole position. It shows he's got a good mind management, shows he has his head together, so good boy!"
