Mercedes reveals 2010 livery

25 January 2010

Mercedes Grand Prix displayed its brand-new car livery at its museum in Stuttgart on Monday morning. The Petronas-sponsored colour scheme - which on this occasion was sampled on one of last year's Brawn BGP001 cars - is the German marque's first since returning to Formula 1 as a works team.

With its 1955 Drivers' Championship domination - courtesy of Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss - having marked its last season to date in Grand Prix racing, Mercedes-Benz returns as a team in its own right this year after ending its long-time partnership with McLaren, which dated back to 1995.

Monday's presentation at Mercedes' Stuttgart museum saw the Petronas-sponsored car revealed, using a Brawn GP BGP001 chassis of 2009; this year's car will first be seen as official pre-season testing begins next month.

7-time Champion Michael Schumacher makes his racing comeback, with 2010 being the first year in a 3-season deal, as Nico Rosberg prepares for his fifth F1 season with a team other than Williams for the first time.
