Toro Rosso launches STR5 in Valencia

1 February 2010

Scuderia Toro Rosso has launched its fifth Formula 1 car in Valencia ahead of testing on Monday morning. Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari lined up for photographs in the pit lane ahead of the Ferrari-powered car's track debut in the hands of the Swiss driver.

With Minardi having become Toro Rosso for the 2006 season, this year's car is significant for the Faenza outfit as it is its first to be completely designed by the Italian team, whose cars have previously been developed by the same design group as that for Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Technology.

Having enjoyed a strong 2008 to finish sixth overall in the Constructors' Championship, Toro Ross fell back to tenth and last of the competitors last year. Buemi will remain in the car for Tuesday before handing over to his Spanish team-mate for the conclusion of Valencia's 3-day run on Wednesday.
