17 February 2010

Sebastian Vettel completed the fastest lap at Jerez on Wednesday at what was the start of a second week of testing in the south-east of Spain. The German registered his fastest lap of 1.22.593 to finish well ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa.

With less than a month to go before the start of the 2010 World Championship, the Formula 1 teams continued their preparations in the at the Circuito de Jerez, with the four-day test running from Wednesday to Saturday.

The day started on a damp track, with teams then kept busy with changeable weather conditions, once again making it difficult to run a proper test programme. At the end of the day it was the Red Bull championship runner-up of last year who topped the timesheets ahead of the 2008 Champion.
