Villeneuve joins BBC radio team

11 March 2010

Having missed out on a chance to rejoin the Formula 1 grid this year, 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will be present in Bahrain over the weekend in order to contribute to the commentary for BBC Radio 5 live.

With Belgrade hopefuls Stefan having been denied a spot on the starting grid, despite the late demise of US F1, Villeneuve will remain on the sidelines but will be commentating alongside regular lead presenter David Croft.

The French-Canadian's arrival in the Sakhir commentary box comes as usual partner to Croft, former Minardi and Super Aguri driver Anthony Davidson, is contesting the American Le Mans Series season-opener at Sebring for Peugeot.
