Button and Brawn win Laureus awards

11 March 2010

Brawn GP title winners Jenson Button and Ross Brawn have been announced as winners of prestigious Laureus Awards, which they were shortlisted for a month ago. Seven gongs are handed out in all to a selection of sporting personalities.

With Team Principal Brawn and Champion driver Button having collected their official FIA trophies at the F1 governing body's end-of-year Gala in Monaco in December, the former Honda team (now Mercedes GP) has been named Laureus World Team of the Year whereas Button collects the prize for World Breakthrough of the Year.

Other winners include athlete Usain Bolt, who is Laureus World Sportsman of the Year, and tennis player Serena Williams, World Sportswoman of the Year.
