The rear wings of the Lotus cars had sprouted changed rear wings when making appearances on-track in Bahrain on Friday. The T127 chassis of Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen are competing with an added element in the centre section of the wing's main plane.
Having tested in Jerez and Barcelona with a more conventional rear wing configuration, the Norfolk-based team aims for higher downforce levels at Sakhir as the season begins.
It is unknown at this point as to whether Lotus will be running the added element for the duration of the season or on selected circuits only.
