Fauzy to drive Lotus in Sepang practice

30 March 2010

Lotus test and reserve driver Fairuz Fauzy will make his on-track debut for a Formula 1 weekend as he pilots the team's car in practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Friday. The former GP2 driver will temporarily replace Heikki Kovalainen.

Although Lotus F1 may be based in Hingham, Norfolk, the latest version of the legendary brand is owned and run by Malaysian Tony Fernandes, meaning the Sepang race weekend is one of its most important of the season.

Fauzy will become the second tester to drive on a Friday this season as Force India first placed Paul di Resta in its cockpit for Melbourne's Practice 1.
