Red Bull Racing had hoped for a headline result after locking out a Formula 1 grid for the first time ever on Saturday. However, as Sebastian Vettel retired from the lead of the Australian Grand Prix and Mark Webber picked up just two points for ninth place, it was an unsatisfactory day for Team Principal Christian Horner.
With a poorly fitted tyre having damaged Vettel's left-front brake, which consequently failed and threw his car off the road at Turn 13, Webber also visited the same gravel trap later in the race when running into the back of Lewis Hamilton's McLaren.
"Ultimately an extremely disappointing day," Horner summed up. "Having been in control of the race - the second in succession - Sebastian unfortunately retired, which certainly cost him a comfortable race win today.

"With Mark, he dropped a place at the start but then was making progress in the damp and tricky conditions. As the circuit went from Intermediates to Slicks, he made a couple of good passing moves on Massa but then, unfortunately, got tangled up with Hamilton for the first time in the race.
"We got Rosberg at the stop but Lewis and Mark got tangled together (for a second time) which resulted in Mark having to pit again for a nose change.
"Ninth place after starting the race with two cars at the front of the grid is massively disappointing."
