US F1 closes doors

3 April 2010

The US F1 one team has ended operations at its Charlotte base, having failed to make the grid this season. The news all but confirms that the squad will be reapplying for an entry to the 2011 campaign.

Having deprived other known outfits of a position on this year's Formula 1 grid, US F1 submitted a late confirmation to governing body the FIA that it would not be taking part in the season, and the Charlotte Business Journal now reports that the squad headed by Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor has closed for business.

However, the publication does note that the team has told employees that rehiring could take place 'if business conditions improve' in a letter signed by Anderson, who was unable for comment.
