Constant work key to success, says Kubica

21 June 2010

Robert Kubica reiterates that Renault must keep producing race-by-race updates in order to keep on top of rivals this season. The Enstone team is rolling out new components at each event this year as it continues to target Mercedes GP and fourth overall in the Constructors' Championship.

Having scored unexpected podiums at Rounds 2 and 6, the Australian and Monaco Grands Prix, Kubica lies a firm seventh in the championship after eight races - ahead of drivers from both the Ferrari and Mercedes camps.

"It would be good to beat everybody, not just Mercedes!" Kubica said. "The gap to the front of the field is not so big but we still have to gain a lot of ground and we can only do that if we keep pushing and keep working."

Renault is also optimistic about its upgrades for the upcoming European Grand Prix, most notably a brand-new floor and front wing.

"We will have a new package on the car this weekend and we hope that will bring us another step forward," Robert continued.

"But every team will be bringing updates, so it will depend how much they bring and how much they improve. In Valencia, anything could happen and we need to wait and see if the order is shuffled and how we will perform compared to Mercedes."
