Trulli: Long straights not good for Lotus

26 June 2010

Jarno Trulli is content with his Lotus’ performance in Valencia but admits that he and Heikki Kovalainen’s cars are not as happy-handling in Spain as at other circuits so far this year.

Equal for beating in each other in qualifying prior to Valencia, Trulli went 5-4 up on Kovalainen on Saturday afternoon as the green and yellow cars – which celebrate the legendary team name’s 500th Grand Prix this weekend – qualified 19th and 20th.

“It was okay,” Jarno explained to reporters in the paddock. “I’m feeling better now. New chassis, things are getting a lot better. I’m still having some trouble handing the brakes but I can now work with the car a lot better.

“We’re still some way away from our direct competitors in front of us but the long straights here, they don’t suit our car.”
