No added pressure on us, says Webber

26 June 2010

Mark Webber feels that McLaren’s recent fine form is no reason for Red Bull Racing to feel added pressure when starting from the front row in Spain on Sunday. The Australian missed out on pole position by just half a tenth and will be the closest Red Bull to the nearest McLaren on the grid.

Both McLarens made mistakes on their final laps, helping Red Bull cement the uppermost grid places, although Webber remains confident as he aims for victory number three of the 2010 campaign.

“Well, better to be the other way round but you can’t do it all the time!” he smiled in the qualifying press conference.

“It’s a credit to the team; today we’ve had a good day because people have been saying, ‘Red Bull this and Red Bull that’. It’s not one of our strongest circuits but let’s see how tomorrow goes - I’m very optimistic that we can have a good race.

“McLaren have been sensational the last two races but there’s no more pressure on our team than anyone else, so I just need to get my job done.”
