Halfway through Lap 26 of the British Grand Prix will mark the central point of the 2010 Formula 1 season. Before visiting a new-look Silverstone, GPUpdate.net reviews each driver’s performances, including highs and lows, from the first nine races of a highly dramatic championship.

It was never going to be easy for Chandhok, heading into the sport with the expectation of being Indian’s second ever F1 driver and with the brand-new, never-tested Hispania team. Indeed, the Mumbai man only first turned a wheel the moment qualifying began for the season-opening race in Bahrain!
Always an uphill struggle, it could only get better but seemingly became worse when car designer Dallara parted company with the team at the end of May.
Competing in a car which, at points, has been lapping slower than GP2 machinery on European circuits, the least the rookie can do is make no mistakes – no mean feat in an unhappy-handling car – in order to finish races and rack up as much mileage as possible.
Not expected to finish in Bahrain, Karun became the first retirement of the season on Lap 2. However, he has since put in some highly credible performances and has finished five of the races he has entered thus far. For the second half of the season, from a personal point of view, staying ahead of team-mate Bruno Senna is the primary objective…and may prove to be the only possibility as well.
