FOTA to hold Fans Forum in London

29 June 2010

This Thursday will see the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) stage its first ever Fans Forum in London. The event in the British capital will allow F1 supporters their first genuine chance to put questions to leading figures of the sport, with a view to possibly putting forward agreeable ideas.

Formed during the 2008 season, FOTA marked a piece of F1 history as all teams gathered in one representative group for the first time ever, all with the sole target of improving the overall show.

Thursday’s event in London’s Piccadilly, at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, will feature a 90-minute discussion in the style of popular television programme ‘Question Time’, headed by FOTA Chairman and McLaren Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh.

150 fans will be present, having put their names forward last week, with others able to follow the conference and contribute live via the internet.

Also present will be Lotus Team Principal Tony Fernandes, Senior Race Engineer for Mercedes GP Jock Clear, Head Ferrari Press Officer Luca Colajanni and Force India test and reserve driver Paul di Resta.

For your chance to have a say as the talks progress, get in touch via the Twitter account of former ITV F1 commentator James Allen, who will be viewing comments during the day.
