Lotus offering guided tours of factory

30 June 2010

Lotus Racing is allowing fans the superb chance of seeing its factory up close and personal, as the Norfolk squad is now allowing Formula 1 supporters to buy tickets in order to enjoy a guided tour of the facilities in Hingham.

Norfolk fans were delighted to see all Lotus F1 cars to date grace the track at local Snetterton on the weekend between the Canadian and European Grands Prix and the distance between fan and machine can now be ever closer, thanks to the 1Malaysia outfit’s new initiative.

The 90-minute factory tour will allow visitors to see the design officer, composite and machine shops, race bays and race team workshops as well as enjoying a close-up view of this year’s T127 car plus meeting some of the key personalities behind it.

With entrances available on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis, the team recommends those who are interested to book as soon as possible, with groups of ten being the maximum which can enter at any given time. Starting today, tours will continue on all week days until the end of next Thursday before restarting between Tuesday 13 and Friday 16 July plus Wednesday 4 to Friday 6 August.

Tickets are on sale for £80 per person although under 17’s may enter for £40 and under-12’s can enjoy free-to-enter passes.
