Halfway through Lap 26 of the British Grand Prix will mark the central point of the 2010 Formula 1 season. Before visiting a new-look Silverstone, GPUpdate.net reviews each driver’s performances, including highs and lows, from the first nine races of a highly dramatic championship.

When Rosberg signed for what is now the Mercedes Grand Prix works team, he was expecting to join reigning World Champion Jenson Button, only then to discover that he was about to partner compatriot Michael Schumacher – the most successful driver to have graced Formula 1…ever. Fear not, as Nico has impressed so far this year.
Whereas other drivers may have crumbled under the pressure of knowing their team-mate is the 7-time World Champion, Rosberg has taken the fact in his stride, making best use of the – at times, difficult and perhaps sluggish – car at his disposal.
The former Williams man finished on the podium in his third and fourth races for the silver arrows – something Schumacher has been unable to do in the first half of the campaign – and has kept driver errors to a minimum – also something Schumacher has seemingly been unable to do.
But, ignoring the much-liked comparisons with his team-mate, the facts state that Rosberg is seventh in the World Championship and ahead of one ‘big three’ car in Felipe Massa’s Ferrari. Although he’s been frustrated at times, not least last time out in Valencia, Nico has made the most of what he’s had.
