Halfway through Lap 26 of the British Grand Prix will mark the central point of the 2010 Formula 1 season. Before visiting a new-look Silverstone, GPUpdate.net reviews each driver’s performances, including highs and lows, from the first nine races of a highly dramatic championship.

A neither fantastic nor disastrous first half of the season for Alguersuari – satisfactory is probably the word. The Spanish rookie, and we do have to remember that he remains a rookie after contesting only seven races last year, was the first 2010 points scorer for Toro Rosso but has lost ground more recently.
After being very much thrown in at the deep when he replaced Sébastien Bourdais for those handful of races last season, Formula 1’s lack of in-season testing showed as Jaime made several mistakes – not least at Suzuka – although you can’t really blame him for that, can you?
However, we’ve definitely seen flashes of brilliance this year. On no less than three occasions – Australia, Canada and Europe – has he successfully held off 7-time Champion Schumacher and the overtake on the outside of GP2 star Hülkenberg at Sepang’s Turn 5 – on his way to championship points, no less - was gutsy and brilliant as well as successful.
In both Montreal and Valencia we’ve seen team-mate Buemi pick up points, often managing to take advantage of other people’s misfortunes; Jaime should now be able to do the same quite regularly, providing he can start just that bit further up the grid. The stats do prove, though, that Alguersuari has finished 9/9 races so far – something somebody with his lack of F1 experience must be credited for.
