Brands Hatch Historic Superprix this weekend

Those attending next weekend’s British Grand Prix at a new-look Silverstone and not making their ways to Goodwood may wish to kick-start their the action with this weekend’s Historic Superprix meeting at Brands Hatch.

The 2010 event marks the 50th anniversary of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Kent as a collection of Formula 1 cars from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s are all on show and on-track, including those from Lotus, Tyrrell and Williams.

A number of drivers who took part in the first ever Silver City Trophy race in 1960 will also be on-hand and other things to look out for include the Derek Bell Trophy for historic Formula 2 and Formula 5000 cars, ‘screamers’ (1-litre Formula 3 machines), historic Formula Fords and the Guards Trophy for GT cars of the 1960s.

The oldest cars present will date as far back as the 1940s, in the form of Road Sports vehicles.
