Hazel Chapman to launch new Lotus motorhome

7 July 2010

Lotus Racing will be debuting a brand-new paddock motorhome for its first British Grand Prix under the 1Malaysia name this weekend, with Hazel Chapman travelling to Silverstone in order to launch it.

Although Hazel was not present in Valencia last time out in order to celebrate the legendary team name’s 500th Grand Prix, son Clive was delighted to witness the event and Hazel – widow of Lotus founder Colin Chapman – will be on-hand for the opening ceremony of the new motorhome on race day morning.

“It’s a great honour for us to welcome Hazel Chapman in on Sunday - she’s going to officially open our new motorhome and that’ll be a great occasion for all of us,” Team Principal Tony Fernandes commented.

“I hope we can continue to do justice to Colin’s legacy as we find more pace, lighten the car and grow as a team, and with Hazel and Clive Chapman at Silverstone with us I think we’re in very good company at our second home race.”
