Nico Rosberg was all smiles after picking up his and Mercedes Grand Prix's third podium result of the season at Silverstone, ensuring the locally-based team finally extends its advantage over Renault for fourth in the Constructors' Championship.
Having narrowly escaped Q2 elimination in qualifying on Saturday, Rosberg went on to start fifth on the British Grand Prix grid before making the most of his efficient strategy, which saw him run longer than most and – having benefited from Fernando Alonso's poor getaway - jump Robert Kubica during the pit-stops.
“I had a good start and was in fourth,” said Nico, who also finished third in Malaysia and China earlier in the season.
“The team made has great process with the car since Valencia and the strategy was great - they kept me out there on the Options (softer tyres) and ahead of Robert and Fernando.
“The atmosphere is fantastic out there, the enthusiastic fans are just great - it's nice to give back a good race to them."
