First Texas stones to be laid in December
Groundbreaking for the Texas circuit which will be welcoming back the American Grand Prix is set to take place shortly before Christmas, it has been reported by Austin news agency KXAN.
With the race having been announced at the end of May, the Austin circuit – designed by Bernie Ecclestone-favoured architect Hermann Tilke – will host the returning American Grand Prix in 2012, ending a four-year baron F1 spell for the United States.
With the circuit set to be complete by June 2012, the race should take place soon after and is likely to tie in with its fellow North American Grand Prix in Canada, which currently has a mid-June spot on the calendar.
