Sauber pilots Pedro de la Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi have suffered more than their fair share of unreliability so far this year although both men are hopeful of another performance gain in Germany this weekend.
Although Sauber may have been victim of uncharacteristic technical problems for much of 2010, the Swiss outfit has now scored in three of the last four races.
“The team has improved the car quite a lot since Valencia and at Silverstone we were able to get the most out of its potential,” de la Rosa began.
“It was very good on Saturday and, of course, I was deeply disappointed when I could not finish the race and score.
“But I have to look forward and I think I can fight for points. The Hockenheim track tends to be hard on the rear tyres and we will have to work around that.”
“After two good races recently I hope we can keep our momentum and develop the car further,” added Kobayashi, who has amassed a total of 15 points for Sauber so far. “If the new update we will be getting for the German Grand Prix also works, as the last two did for Valencia and Silverstone, I’m confident of scoring points again.”
