Stanford becomes Williams Team Manager again

23 July 2010

Dickie Stanford has reassumed the role of Team Manager at Williams, having given up the position five years ago. At present, he will work alongside Tim Newton before the latter steps back to a factory job.

Stanford first became Team Manager at Williams in 1994, therefore overseeing world titles for Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve in 1996 and 1997 before stepping back in 2005. In more recent years, Dickie has been in charge of Williams’ test team.

However, with Newton now electing to return to a factory-only role, he will assist Stanford at Hockenheim plus the Hungaroring next weekend before Dickie retakes the job full-time in Belgium.
