Toro Rosso searching for better dry setup

23 July 2010

‘Sébastien Buemi’ was a notable name in the top ten on Friday morning at Hockenheim, as he finished the wet first practice seventh quickest for Toro Rosso, although the Swiss driver now aims to improve his car’s configuration for dry conditions.

Having placed seventh in the morning with team-mate Jaime Alguersuari 16th, the pair fell back to 17th and 18th in the afternoon, leaving Buemi scratching his head.

“The morning session went well, as the driver can make more of a difference in the wet conditions and I was P7, looking competitive,” he began.

“But in the dry we need to find a better setup - therefore we need to work hard now, analysing the data to try and improve the car for tomorrow. We have some new elements on the car here, so we have to assess how to get the best from them.”

“It was an interesting day, dealing with both wet and dry conditions,” Spaniard Alguersuari added on this, his first Formula 1 weekend at Hockenheim. “We can be reasonably satisfied because we completed a lot of laps and I am pleased not to have made any mistakes in the wet.”
