Nico Hülkenberg will contest his maiden home Grand Prix on Sunday and the Williams driver is upbeat following Friday’s pair of 90-minute practice sessions, from which he achieved two top ten finishing positions.
Tenth in the soaking morning period, Nico moved himself up to eighth on the timesheets as the afternoon session arrived.
“It was a positive Friday,” he began. “Not only did I feel good in the car, but there is of course a positive feeling, being on the track at your home race.
“I think we can have a strong weekend if we put it all together. It’s a relatively short circuit and traffic was a bit problematic at times today, but it’s only Friday and hopefully we won’t have any issues in qualifying.”
